Cultural Competency in Healthcare
Arkansas's IDD population is racially and culturally diverse, and DSPs serve individuals from many backgrounds. NADSP explicitly includes cultural competency as a DSP practice standard, yet CES training does not address it. This course supports honest self-reflection, teaches how culture, religion, and language shape service preferences, and gives you tools to recognize and address microaggressions in the workplace.
