AR-CNHS — CNA + Home Support Specialist
The clinical pathway. AR-CNHS combines Certified Nursing Assistant Foundations with the Home Support Specialist (HSS) training that Arkansas Total Care recognizes for higher-acuity CES individuals. This is the bridge from direct-support work into the clinical career ladder: CNA → HSS → LPN → RN. Required prerequisite: AR-CDSP I or current CNA license.
What you will learn
- Apply proper body mechanics and safe-lifting technique for ADL support
- Perform ADL skills to CNA-program standards (bathing, dressing, transfers, feeding)
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes
- Apply infection-control standards including isolation precautions
- Complete the supervised CNA practicum hours required for the Arkansas registry
- Perform delegated nursing tasks under the Home Support Specialist scope
- Step into the LPN pathway when you are ready
